Women Pumps

Women pumps usually have a heel. A pump is generally a high heel shoe where the front of the toes is covered. The name is due to them being closed toe shoes although there are some with a peep-toe design. They can be round toe pumps or square toe pumps. The heel is normally about an inch or less.

In the UK, except for the fashion industry, pumps would in many cases refer to low-heel shoes such as those used in dancing. One example is ballerina pumps. However in the US, the term pumps is exclusive to women’s shoes with a high heel with closed toes. The front upper part being nearer the toes than the top of the foot.

Pumps not only come in leather but also in other materials. They also match both formal and informal attire. You can wear them with jeans, skirts or dresses.
