Just got this in the mail, and I’m so glad I went with the small instead of the medium. It fits very well over a thick sweater… it isn’t a coat, so I really don’t foresee wanting to layer more than that.

This jacket is a great value. I bought it specifically for Iceland as an outer shell and it surpassed my expectations. It was both wind and waterproof. The wind proof came in handy as there were 30 mph winds with gusts up to 70 mph. I brought 3 rain jackets with me and this one was my favorite since it’s wind and water proof she dried very quickly. The red is also a flattering and bright color.

Would you consider this a good windbreaker?
Answer:It is the BEST windbreaker, rain jacket I’ve ever owned. It is so well made, using water-repellent material. The hood is permanently attached so that water can never seep down your neck. Every part of this jacket is well-designed, such as the velcro fitted cuffs (no alterations needed). Above all, the color choices are beautiful; the jacket is super comfortable and the price for such quality is reasonable. I bought four–couldn’t resist the colors and the flattering fit. ( BTW, I was glad to have this jacket during the rainy weather that followed the recent hurricane. I wore it to fill the birdfeeders out back. All I had to do when I got back to the porch, was to shake my jacket a few times, and most of the water on my jacket was gone. I stayed completely dry!) see less

Is this waterproof ? Does the water go inside at all
Answer:Yes the entire jacket is waterproof. The hood has strings in it that can keep your hood in place so your hair will stay dry. The jacket has a zipper and velcro on top of that. If you keep your jacket open and it’s raining, you will probably get slightly wet. But if you zip it up, use the velcro, and pull in the strings for the hood, you will stay dry!
